Initially established as an open-pit mining operation, the company has transitioned to higher-grade underground mining since 1979. With a fully operational production mine, processing plant, and robust infrastructure, Lewis & Co Mining Corporation is well-positioned to deliver substantial returns.

1979

Exploration and initial surveys began in Mogok, Myanmar, identifying significant gold and ruby deposits. Preparations for mining operations commenced.

1980

Lewis & Co Mining Corporation officially launched its operations in Mogok with open-pit mining. The company quickly established a reputation for quality and reliability in gold production.

1990 -

1995

Expansion of open-pit mining operations, increasing production capacity and investing in infrastructure development. The company solidified its presence in the Myanmar mining sector.

1996 -

2000

Transition to underground mining began due to the discovery of higher-grade gold deposits deeper within the Mogok region. This shift marked a significant turning point for Lewis & Co Mining Corporation, focusing on long-term sustainability and higher yield.

1999 -

2000

The company completed the transition to a fully underground operation. State-of-the-art mining equipment and techniques were introduced, enhancing efficiency and safety.

2002 -

2008

Continued development of underground mining infrastructure, including the construction of a modern processing plant. Lewis & Co Mining Corporation achieved record production levels, establishing itself as a leading gold producer in Southeast Asia.

2010 -

2020

Focused on scaling operations and increasing production capacity. Introduced advanced geological surveying and mining technology to optimize resource extraction. The company also strengthened its commitment to environmental and social responsibility, initiating several community development projects and sustainability programs.
